Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Recognition Labs, LLC
Version: 1.0
Effective Date: 21 July 2026
Last Updated: 21 July 2026
This policy applies only to consumer health data. When you use moe, you may talk about stress, worry, emotional well-being, or other health-related topics. Some of that information may count as consumer health data. moe is an AI connection coaching app. It is not therapy, counseling, psychotherapy, medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, a medical device, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, emergency response, safety monitoring, legal advice, financial advice, or any other professional service.
What consumer health data we may collect
We do not ask for medical records or require health information to use moe. But if you choose to discuss health-related topics while using moe, you agree that you do so in your sole discretion, and the following may count as consumer health data:
- Text transcripts of live coaching calls and voice messages when they mention stress, worry, emotional well-being, mental health, sleep, or similar topics.
- Relationship details or other personal information you share if that information reveals or describes your physical or mental health status.
- Coaching content (key details derived from text transcripts that we keep so the AI coach can continue coaching across calls) when those outputs reflect health-related topics or patterns.
We do not request or require information about your treatment plans, prescription information, health insurance information, genetic data, or information from health care providers. We do not extract or keep voiceprints or other biometric identifiers from your voice.
Sources of consumer health data
- Directly from you, when you speak with the AI coach, send a voice message, or otherwise choose to share health-related information in the app.
- From information we create from what you tell us.
We do not receive your data from health care providers or health insurers.
How we use consumer health data
We may use your data to:
- Provide the coaching service you asked for.
- Turn speech into text so the AI coach can respond.
- Generate coaching responses during live calls and from voice messages.
- Create coaching content for future calls.
- Maintain continuity and provide follow-up coaching over time.
- Protect users and others, investigate safety issues, and make required reports.
- Secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the app.
We do not sell consumer health data. We do not use consumer health data for advertising. We do not use consumer health data to train our own AI models. Our current third-party AI providers' API terms and service settings prohibit use of submitted API data for model training. For more information, please view our Privacy Policy.
How we process consumer health data
We process your data in a voice-to-text coaching workflow. During a live call, your voice is streamed for transcription in real time and is not stored. The transcript and relevant coaching context are used to generate the coach's response. After the call, we store the transcript and create coaching content for future calls. For voice messages, audio is uploaded briefly for transcription and then deleted from transient storage. Only the text transcript is kept.
We use vendors and service providers to provide moe. These providers may process consumer health data on our behalf to transcribe speech, operate voice and AI systems, generate AI text, host and store transcripts and related coaching records, provide cloud infrastructure, secure and maintain the app, and support account access. We require these providers to process consumer health data under contract, only as needed to provide services to us, and not for their own advertising, sale, or independent commercial purposes.
Before you can use moe, we present a separate consent step that explains:
- Your voice and conversation data will be processed to provide coaching.
- Sensitive topics may come up.
- Service providers help us run the app.
- You are talking to AI, not a human coach.
You must complete that step before coaching begins.
What consumer health data we share
Outside the service providers we use to run the app, we may disclose the following categories of your data when required by law, including for mandatory reporting or when required by our policies:
- Transcripts, coaching content, or other conversation-derived text that contain consumer health data.
Categories of third parties and affiliates with whom we share consumer health data
Service providers that process consumer health data on our behalf are described above. We do not treat those service providers as third parties or affiliates for purposes of this section when they process consumer health data on our behalf under contract.
Outside those service providers, we may share consumer health data only with the following categories of third parties:
- Government authorities, courts, law enforcement agencies, mandatory-reporting recipients, or other recipients when disclosure is required by law, including in response to legally valid court orders, subpoenas, warrants, or mandatory reporting obligations.
We do not share consumer health data with any affiliate. For more information, please view our Privacy Policy.
Your rights and how to submit a request
Depending on where you live and the law that applies to you, you may have the right to:
- Confirm whether we are collecting, sharing, or selling your data.
- Receive a list of the third parties and affiliates that received your data. Where required by law, that list will also include an email address or other online way to contact those third parties.
- Access your data.
- Ask us to stop collecting or sharing your data.
- Delete your data.
- Appeal a decision we make about your request.
To make a request, email support@moe.coach.
We may need to verify your identity before we act on your request. We will not require you to create a new account just to submit a request, though we may ask you to use an existing account or provide information needed to verify you.
We will respond within 45 days after we receive and verify your request. Where applicable law requires us to act sooner, we will. If we need more time, we may take one additional 45-day extension and explain why. We provide at least two requests free of charge each year. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
Stopping future collection and deleting your data
If you ask us to stop collecting or sharing your data, the only way we can do so is to delete your account. The coaching service works by processing what you tell us — we cannot provide it without collecting and processing your data. There is no paused account option. If you request for us to delete your account and stop future sharing or collection of your data, we will do so in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Some service providers do not offer per-user deletion for temporary technical records (for example, system logs used to run, secure, and troubleshoot the service). For those services, we minimize the data we send and avoid including information that directly identifies your account where possible. After we delete your account, we may keep:
- Records of what you consented to and records that your data was deleted.
- Transcripts flagged by safety checks, until that review is complete and any required reports are made.
- Information we must retain to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, detect security incidents, or exercise or defend legal claims, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- Limited processor logs, security records, or backups outside our direct control, as described in our Privacy Policy, and only for as long as applicable law permits.
Review and request changes
We do not currently offer a separate process to review and request changes to specific transcript lines, coaching content, or other items of your data. If you believe information should not be retained, you can delete your account at any time through app settings or through our web deletion page.
Appeals
If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email or emailing support@moe.coach with the subject line "Appeal." Please explain why you think the decision should change. We will review the appeal and respond in writing within 45 days. If we deny your appeal, we will inform you of your right to contact your state attorney general or applicable regulatory authority.
Changes to this policy
When we make material changes, we will notify you before the changes take effect. We may notify you in the app, by email, or by another clear method. We will also update the effective date at the top of this document.
Cross-site collection
We do not allow third parties to collect your data over time and across different websites or online services when you use moe.
